It was Noel Gallagher vs Ed Sheeran this month when Noel went seething to the press because Ed, and a few other performers, had pulled out of his Teenage Cancer Trust 2013 charity gigs.

Noel said: ’To go and knock on dressing room doors of some of the biggest bands in the world and ask if could they possibly, would they be noble enough – it brought out a side I don’t like.’ He continued, “And I got let down a lot. Everybody says yes to your face. Everybody. And then the agent will call, and their management will call and then their PR will call and say, ‘Ah, they’re going to be in Australia at the time.’”

This comment from Noel seems to be a dig at Ed, who agreed to perform at the charity shows only to find out from management that it would clash with his already sold out shows in Australia.

Ed, not being one to turn down a charity gig, has since replied honestly saying ‘I actually told him I would do the gig whenever he wanted, but the week they were planned I was in Australia with gigs already booked and sold out’ Ed continues, ‘Had it been any other time I would have made it happen, but I found this out after I’d said yes. I think it would be worse saying no instantly without knowing, to be honest, and I said any other time he wants to do a show and I’m not on tour, I will 100 per cent do it.’

Gallagher then went on to say how in particular Ed and Mumford and Sons had turned his show down after promising to perform. He finishes his explosive interview saying that ‘working class bands’ hadn’t turned him down but the ‘middle class’ performers had.

So should Ed have cancelled his sold out show in Australia to commit to Noel’s Teenage Cancer Trust 2013 Show? Was it wrong for Ed to say he would play and then back out?

Ed Sheeran is on tour in Australia

All we know is that Ed wanted to play at Noel’s gig but obviously he found out he had other commitments. One thing I can say about Ed is that he is a very charitable guy and has always performed at charity gigs whenever he has had the time. Instead of slating him in the press, Noel should understand (being a performer himself). We think if anything Noel is just upset that his lineup just wasn’t as good without Ed there!

Teenage Cancer Trust 2013

First off I’m sure you’ve all seen but why not re-cap on what happened earlier this month when our poor Ed fell on stage during the RED tour with Taylor Swift. As usual Ed was giving his all during a performance of ‘You Need Me Man I Don’t Need You’, but after jumping on a speaker whilst singing Ed slipped and fell to the floor. Being a fantastic performer Ed got straight back up and continued his performance but I’m sure he won’t be getting on any speakers any time soon!

Although as usual our Ed was such a great performer he got straight back up and continued singing.

There may have been rumours that an Ed Sheeran Taylor Swift collaboration was on the cards but here at EdSheeranFans.com we can now confirm that this is definitely going to happen.

Ed Sheeran has collaborated with Taylor Swift on her new album ‘Red’, the couple will duet on a song they have written together about Taylor’s previous relationships. The album, the fourth album for Swift, is all about  “crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships” of which Taylor explains she has experienced many over the last couple of years.

Red is due for release on 22nd October 2012. We can’t wait to hear Ed and Taylor’s collaboration!

He is overjoyed at his album success stateside saying ”The album is pretty much a demo album that was made for next to no budget and put together quite last minute. But I love it. At the time, it was the best piece of work I could put out. The singles that are coming off the album very much represent me as a musician and an artist.”

Ed is now continuing to tour and work with other artists such as his good friends One Direction and country singer Taylor Swift.

Talking about new music he is creating Ed explains he’ll stick to what he does best instead of going down a new route, “I think I’m gonna keep building on what I’ve done. Don’t fix it if it isn’t broken. I loved the music that I tour and play and write. I think it would be foolish to create something that I wasn’t totally happy with. So I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing and building on what I’ve built so far.”

The media clearly wanted to cause a problem for Ed, however Ed didn’t stand for it. On Twitter Ed defended himself saying ‘Apparently, media are running a story tomorrow about how I’m coming home early to enter rehab. I’m missing 4 days of a tour to see my family. But yeah, no rehab just yet, but i am going to legoland in a few weeks, so might need it after that.’

Ed has toured for a very long time and has a busy summer ahead of him, performing at many festivals and opening for Ibiza. Give the guy a break!

I’m just finishing my tour round the USA, had a blast, going round random places and seeing the sights!

I’ve also just launched my new video for Small Bump which will be the next single in the UK.

I’m gonna be back in the UK for the festival season this summer, so hopefully see some of you there.

About the album being released abroad, Ed said  “It’s still quite a fairly underground thing, it hasn’t hit the mainstream yet, which is really nice.” – Ed’s words ‘yet’ clearly show he has high hopes for his album abroad. On talking of the success of + around the world, Ed says he’s had his fair share of criticism, “My album wasn’t very critically acclaimed at all, in any sense. I got a bit sensitive about it, like ‘Why don’t people think my music’s good? It’s selling a lot. Does this mean it’s just selling, but I’m not good?’”

However with ‘The A Team’ being up for an Ivor Novello award  Ed still realises that he is doing well, “It’s the biggest pat on the back I could expect, it gives me strength to believe that people may be wrong.”

Ed also talks of the success his good friends One Direction are having in the States so far “They have so much power to do whatever, I mean, they could release a hard-core metal album and people would love them, yeah? I’d like to go away and really write some wicked songs [with them].I don’t think either of us have time to actually get down in a studio, because they’re doing their tour and I’m doing mine.” Ed previously wrote ‘Moments’ for One Direction, click here to listen to that song

Ed talks of sharing more of his songs with One Direction, “I’ve got two songs that their manager e-mailed me for – old songs that were meant to go on my last album – a big stadium anthem. So I’m going to put them towards them and see if they like them, I wouldn’t necessarily do that with any other bands.”
